Hello, my lovelies.
As you may have known from the previous journal entry, I was gonna be having surgery to fix my freakish hands.
Well, it's been two weeks since the operation and yesterday I went back to have the cast and dressings removed.
It was fucking creepy, I though they were gonna pull my freshly patched up skin off along with the dressings.
Anyway, you're all probably curious about what my hands look like now and let me tell you, it's not a pretty picture. They look really horrible and swollen and some might even say the doctors ruined my hands. Don't worry about the colour, that's just marker pens making the whole thing look infected, but it's actually fine.
As soon as I saw my left hand, I nearly cried, because the webspace between my pinkie and ring finger has finally been opened after 20 years. I still can't believe I got this operation done for free. Gawd bless the NHS.
The swelling has gone down significantly overnight and I have more flexibility now. Another week off work
that I have to spend doing these special hand exercises before I go back for a checkup.
